Christleton Pre-School is a small parent-committee led charity pre-school offering children between 2 and 4 yrs sessional education on a term-time basis. We accept all government funding and accept childcare vouchers towards payment.
We follow all the principles of the EYFS and teach our children through guided play, free play and exploration.
On Thursday afternoons during the spring and summer terms, we run a “Rising 5’s” session that is specifically tailored towards school readiness. A very valuable session for children about to start Primary school. We have close relationship with the primary school early years teacher and are aware of what is expected of new starters.
Dawn Sturgess
Manager
I have been involved with Christleton preschool since my daughter started in 2004. Firstly, as a volunteer, then as bank staff whilst putting myself through a diploma in childcare, learning and development. I then became a permanent staff member, promoted to assistant manager, and finally manager in June 2015. I love my job and adore all the children I have looked after over the years. No two days are the same and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Eryn Prince
Assistant Manager
I started my journey with preschool, in 2021 as an Early years childcare apprentice, I absolutely loved it from the start and knew it was a role I would grow in. The time doing my apprenticeship absolutely flew, learning and growing with the children, to then be made assistant manager in September 2023. I have a smile on my face every day because of the children and feel so lucky I get to call this my job.
Yvonne Lea
Childcare Assistant
I am a NNEB qualified with over 35 years’ experience in childcare. I have been involved with preschool firstly as a nanny 20 years ago for twins and as a childminder for children in my care who lived locally, then my 2 children attended preschool and loved it! Also, my husband went as a child over 40 years ago at the scout hut we are still based at. I became a member of staff on a part time basis 3 years ago. I love my job and watching the children grow and learn is so rewarding.
Jade Roberts
Childcare Assistant
I started placement for university, studying level 6 early years childhood studies, at Christleton pre school in 2023, after 6 weeks there, I went back a year later to complete two more weeks. To my surprise I was offered a job, which felt so great because I was job hunting at the time. I love my time at preschool, and it helps me put all of my learning to use. Every day I learn something new, and enjoy watching the children grow and learn.
